Stafford (WFVA) -- George Washington's Boyhood Home in Stafford is ready for 4th of July activities. Director of Educational Programming Alma Withers says you should celebrate the 4th of July at Ferry Farm, where the Father of our country grew up. She says the theme this year is, "The Spirit of America." Withers says Ferry Farm is teaming up with the National Guard. "They're is going to be a helicopter, climbing wall and military vehicle," she says. Other activities include living history, a visit with the local Potawomack tribe, a reading of a portion of the Declaration of Independence and a World War I American Red Cross Canteen Service tent. Events at Ferry Farm from 10-5 on Monday. There's a one dollar admission. Active military and their families free with ID. We'll broadcast live from the event 10-11 this morning.
